Absence from School Print E-mail

Absence from School

If your child is not well enough to attend school please telephone the school and leave a message on the answerphone on the morning on the first day of absence or call in at the School Office.

Unless you are able to say when your child will be returning to school in this first message, please contact the school again on the following day or days if your child remains at home.

You must provide a brief note to the class teacher on the day your child returns to school explaining why your child was absent.

Children are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without permission. If you need to take your child out of school for a medical appointment, please inform your child's class teacher or the school office.

Holidays in term time

Parents will not be given permission to take children away from school during term-time as it causes severe disruption to the children’s education. If there are exceptional reasons why a parent wishes to take a child out of school during term-time an application must be made in advance and in writing addressed to the Headteacher.
