General concerns

It is important that parents let us know of any concerns that they have. The school has established a procedure for parents to follow when they have a query or a grievance about the school. Below, the procedure is explained.

The first step is for parents to contact their child's class teacher, who is available at the end of each school day.

If speaking to the class teacher of a child in the Infants does not resolve the issue, parents of a child in the Nursery or Reception should speak to Mrs Green (Head of Foundation Stage) and parents of a child in Year 1 or 2 should speak to Mrs Bernardo (Head of Key Stage 1). If the issue is still unresolved, parents of a child in these year groups may then speak to Mrs Love (Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Infants), followed by escalation to Miss Oastler, Deputy Headteacher, and then to Mr Kearsey (Headteacher).

If speaking to the class teacher of a child in Year 3 or 4 does not resolve the issue, parents should speak to Miss Dourado (Head of lower Key Stage 2) and then Mrs Scrivens (Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Juniors), followed by escalation to Miss Oastler, Deputy Headteacher, and then to Mr Kearsey (Headteacher).

If speaking to the class teacher of a child in Year 4 or 5 does not resolve the issue, parents should, until a Head of upper Key Stage 2 is appointed, speak to Mrs Scrivens (Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Juniors), followed by escalation to Miss Oastler, Deputy Headteacher, and then to Mr Kearsey (Headteacher).

Should it not be possible to resolve the issue following the procedure outlined above, parents should follow the school's formal complaints procedure which allows matters to be considered by the governing body and if necessary by the Local Authority. A copy of the complaints procedure is available from the school office and on the School policies page.
