School uniform policy

It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school or when participating in a school organised event outside of normal school hours.

Our policy for school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform

  • promotes a sense of pride in the school;
  • engenders a sense of community and belonging toward the school;
  • is practical and smart;
  • makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
  • is regarded as suitable wear for school and is considered by parents/carers as good value for money; and
  • is designed with health and safety in mind.

A copy of the School Uniform Policy is available on this website.

Nursery

The Nursery does not have a uniform, but please follow these recommendations:

  • trousers should be jogging bottoms or have elasticated waists;
  • sensible shoes or trainers (NOT flip flops, NO laces); and
  • washable clothes which your child can be independent in.

Your School Uniform and Cladish, our uniform providers, sell a royal blue sweatshirt with the school logo as worn by our Infant children. This may be worn in the Nursery. They also sell matching jogging bottoms.

See also guidance on clothing to be worn in the Nursery.

Other uniform items

Other uniform items, such as trousers, dresses, shirts, blouses etc are standard items which can be purchased in most department stores and supermarket chains.

PE kit

PE kit should be kept at school in a named PE bag which can be obtained from Your School Uniform.

Footwear

Everyday footwear must be safe and sensible for playground and indoor use. No narrow or raised heels are allowed. Children should wear sensible school shoes (black or brown) with flat heels (no boots please). Older children may change into plimsolls or trainers in the lunch break if parents wish.

Naming of uniform and lost property

Please make sure that all your child's clothes are clearly marked, preferably with name tapes. Shoes and plimsolls should also have names written inside. The school will endeavour to reunite lost named items with their owners. Unnamed lost property will be disposed of at the end of each term.
