School terms in 2011/12 comprise 189 pupil days and 5 inset (in-service training) days. The number of pupil days was  reduced from 190 to 189 to allow for the extra Bank Holiday for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. This day now follows the late May Bank Holiday which has been moved to Monday 4 June. Both these dates fall within the school's half-term. The date of one further inset day is to be advised.

The school is closed on a local or national election day as it is designated as a polling station.
