A pupil premium grant is allocated to schools based on the number of children on roll who are currently eligible for free school meals or have been eligible during the last 6 years. This grant is additional to main school funding and is to be used to address inequalities that may occur between children eligible for free school meals and their peers who are not. It is for schools to decide how the grant should be spent to support these pupils as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for these pupils to address any inequalities.
