Years 1 and 5 blast off to space! Print E-mail

'The Astrodome', a mobile planetariumTo support the work that they have been doing in science, Years 1 and 5 had a visit from 'The Astrodome', a mobile planetarium.  The infant hall was filled with a giant dome which the children entered  and learnt about the mysteries of space, the earth, the sun and the moon.

The children all had a great time and received a certificate to mark their visit into space.  Have a look at what the children in Year 1 learnt...

"The moon reflects the sun."  Sarah

"In the astrodome we saw a shooting star."  Aleksandra

"Light comes from the sun."  Stefan

"I saw the moon.  I saw the North Star.  I like Mars."  Rosemary

"I saw stars in the astrodome.  When he turned the star around we went dizzy."  Anastasia

"I saw a rocket blast off." Saman
