Lauren and Kate from the London Borough of Sutton's Housing Department came to Devonshire to talk to us about keeping safe near building sites at all times and especially in the summer holidays.  They told us about the different parts of a building site and how people who work on them keep themselves safe by wearing special protective clothing.

They then set us a challenge to design a poster that showed people how to keep safe on building sites.  We had a lot of children enter the competition and Lauren and Kate had a difficult job to choose a winning poster. All of the children whose posters were chosen received an impressive bundle of art equipment for them to use at home.  Lauren is hoping that the posters will be enlarged and made into huge posters which will displayed on building sites throughout the borough helping everyone to stay safe.  Look out for our posters!
