Leadership & management

Mr Martin Kearsey and Miss Fiona OastlerAt Devonshire, the strategic leadership team consists of the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher and two Assistant Headteachers. One Assistant Headteacher has responsibility for Key Stage 2 and the other has responsibility for Key Stage 1 and the Foundation Stage.

Each phase within the school (Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2) is led by a phase manager and they represent their phase on the senior leadership team, which also comprises the special educational needs/inclusion leader, the Bursar, the PSHE subject leader, the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.

Each curriculum area is led by a teacher who monitors and manages the development of their area as well as accounting for a budget to ensure that their area of responsibility is appropriately resourced to match the needs of the curriculum.

The governing body are a very important part of the leadership of the school. The governors work together with the Headteacher and the senior leadership team providing challenge, advice and support as well as monitoring and reviewing the school's aims and objectives.
