Year 5 Introduction Print E-mail

Welcome to Year 5. We hope you enjoy your year with us.  We cover a number of interesting topics.  There will be a variety of themed weeks throughout the year which are always great fun.

Children are encouraged to read as much as possible, at least three times a week.  A set of spellings is given to the children each week. These are to be learnt and will be tested.  A piece of numeracy and literacy homework is sent home each week, together with a piece of research based homework.  Occasionally we may ask the children to complete a piece of unfinished work as part of their homework.  Often in preparation for or as part of a topic being covered in class we may ask children to complete some research.

We always welcome parents who are able to come into School and help in any way, whether it is helping on a School trip, hearing readers or helping with a specific project.  You do not have to commit yourself to a whole year of weekly visits. We will be very grateful for as much or as little time as you can spare us!
