  • Eco-group

At Devonshire, we have a group of children who are very keen to promote sustainability and the importance of looking after our environment.  They belong to our eco-group.

They meet regularly with Dr Reddy and devise specific projects to share their enthusiasm and commitment to working together, to maintain the environment.

    Their recent projects have included:

    • Creating posters about the impact of pollution which are displayed around the school,
    • Organising a sunflower growing competition, with each class having their very own sunflower to plant and take care of – well done to Pine class who grew the tallest sunflower!
    • Organising a fund-raising activity for the Woodland Trust – everyone came to school dressed in the colours of a tree and together we raised £296 for the Trust.

The eco-group’s vision is supported by the work of our gardening club who also work on sustainability projects – they make their own compost, create art from nature and always have a variety of growing projects in progress.
