Outside the classroom

There are many opportunities for children to take on roles of responsibility within the school.  These include roles inside and outside of the classroom.

Roles outside of the classroom enable our children to work with others in classes and year groups other than their own, on a whole school project. They promote children’s personal development, enabling them to develop a variety of skills, work collaboratively with others as part of a team, outside of their classroom.  Such opportunities include being a school councillor, a digital leader, a sports leader, an eco-group member, a reading champion, a reading buddy, a gardening champion, a team captain and others too.

Trips and visitors to school enhance children’s curricular learning and personal development, giving them the opportunity to extend, apply and embed their learning.  Trips include learning from and about the local area, as well as areas further afield.  Visitors to school provide valuable additional learning opportunities for the children.  Specialists in a particular area, work with children to enhance their knowledge and understanding in this area.
